Few internal library stamps. Smudge at upper right of ffep. Overall very good condition. Le Clerc was a Swiss Arminian (Remonstrant Calvinist) theologian, known for his rationalistic method of biblical enquiry and the particularly critical stance he took towards the authorship and inspiration of some scriptural books. From 1693 to 1731 he published a series of commentaries on the Old Testament. This volume contains his commentary on the Prophets.
